I want to share my heart on something this evening. As many of you - TopicsExpress

I want to share my heart on something this evening. As many of you may already know Im a firefighter/paramedic its what Ive chosen to do for a living. Its a very demanding job with long hours, away on Holidays and away from our families every third day. I believe each and every one of us has been gifted by God with the ability to handle the job we preform. As many of you already know there was a horrible fire Christmas morning where serval people were injured. I want to thank my east side brothers and sisters on a job well done. As I was scrolling through FB I saw the news write up about the fire and how the mother was able to get her older daughter out but not her 3 year old son. She was unable to find locate her 3 year old son due to heavy smoke. The article went on to say Birmingham Firefighters were able to successfully locate the son and bring him out alive. The little boy is now in Childrens Hospital recovering in ICU. I have a 3 year old son myself and couldnt image not being able to get to him because of a fire and smoke. This post is not blow up the heads of the ones who rescued the boy and extinguished the flames by no means. Its about the job we do and do everyday. That was not the only fire that day in the city of Birmingham. There is a whole lot that goes on that we do that doesnt ever make to the public. Because of brave men and women doing their job and what theyve been called to do there is a family that is still alive today. Yes I know there was a loss of personal belongings but most of that can be replaced. The lives that were saved that morning will never be able to be replaced. I want everyone to know firefighters are not always laying around cutting up when the job calls we go to work. I also want to say Im proud to be a part of Birmingham Fire and Rescue Department. I work with wonderful group of men a women that put their lives on the line daily. I ask that everyone keep the families affected Christmas morning in your prayers. Also the men and women who wake up every day and suit up ready and prepared to take in what the day has for them. Thank You Guys so much love yall. Sorry if I didnt tag you I tried to tag as many as possible.
