I wanted to share a little personal victory with you guys! For those who have followed me since I gave birth 10 months ago, you know that I have been dealing with PPD or postpartum depression for some time now. 3 months after giving birth, I finally had the courage to stand up and talk to a doctor about it. I was put on Zoloft which helped tremendously. Well, lately, I am so excited to share that my medication has been decreased. I have been feeling tons better and I owe it all to a good diet and exercise. I have been trying to take things to the next level-cleaning up my diet even more and lifting heavier/getting more active-and it is amazing what a natural anti-depressant a good workout combined with a healthy diet can be. I hope to fully be able to get off of the Zoloft before my husband and I try for baby #2 (not anytime soon!). Depression, especially PPD, is super serious. I dont wish it upon anyone. Some days, you just want to stay in bed and cry-for no reason-all thanks to a chemical imbalance within the brain. Some people often think that depression is something you can just wish away-but its not that easy. I am just so thankful to have the support of good friends and family, especially my sweet husband who has supported me from day #1. Thank you all for the support and love as well. If you are dealing with baby blues that wont pass, please go talk to a doctor! XOXO
