I wanted to share this editorial with yall. It is about the village I grew up in and spent most of my life. By1996 Patchogue Village, NY was suffering from a declining downtown. Along with its devalued housing stock brought on by absentee Landlords. The elected officials at that time had no foresight and drive to correct and change the villages destiny. Then a great change occurred. The entire Village board was replace with a new generation of dedicated individuals who brought on the awaking of Patchogue. How It all happened would take forever to explain. It wasnt an easy task and there were lots of sacrifices, ridicule, bad blood & politics. But Patchogue pulled thru! The good news is, its becoming once again, a Village of grander. Where diversified individuals can live in harmony. Let this be an example to all towns, cities and villages that suffer from identity lost that there is hope for them. I am proud to say I was part of that change. Along with a group of individuals I am proud to call heroes to the cause. Their still there making it happen. Thank you all..you know who you are cveditorials/LI/2014/08/26/patchogues-progress/
