I was about to make a post complaining that Riley and I both feel - TopicsExpress

I was about to make a post complaining that Riley and I both feel worse today after feeling better yesterday and that Im sick and tired of feeling sick and tired and how It sucks when theres really nothing you can do but wait for it to get better...BUT... Then I realized all of the people who have had or are or will be dealing with chronic and debilitating illness. I want to point to the perspective a little acute illness can provide if you view it the right way. There are many who are terminally ill who wont be getting better. There are many who are battling chronic illness that may get better for a short time or may only get worse. They feel bad every day. Every day is a battle just to make it through. Routine things that we take for granted become daunting and exhausting tasks not only for them but for those close to them. Its hard to whine about an acute and temporary case of influenza or anything else when I think about it that way. I cant imagine having cancer, or lupus, or MLS or any of the other chronic life threatening or life altering diseases that many people have to face every single day. Many people around us do have to deal with that stuff every day. I just wanted to point out that your good health shouldnt be taken for granted and remind you to keep others in mind who might be dealing with health problems or have family who are. I am grateful that I havent had to personally deal with anything of that nature myself but I witness it with my family and friends and I pray for those who are having to face those obstacles and for their families. I know that both my mom and dad (Dean and Terry) have to deal with that struggle. I know Keri Williams Foster is dealing with it with her husband Brent and all that hes having to go through and it really just sucks to think about it. Clayton has been fighting an illness for a long time. You sure seem to be hiding it well these days. There are a lot of people aside from my dad dealing with Lupus and all the obstacles it presents, Rachael, Alyssia, Melissa, Tias son, Randi, and many others. Corey has been fighting cancer for as long as I can remember. A lot of people are dealing with depression as well that can be just as debilitating. I apologize if I mentioned or tagged someone who wishes to be removed and I certainly did not intend on leaving anyone out. I know some of you are very private and I dont want to offend. Im not trying to sound like the Pastor during prayer request time at church. I simply wanted to acknowledge that my whining is very much in perspective and that I have you guys in my thoughts and prayers and hope youll forgive the little influenza pity party I have thrown for myself the last two days.
