Yesterday, one of the DAYTON DOGS, Coal, the Black Lab Mix, escaped from the fenced in back yard area and walked around to the patio where I was working. He walked over and said "HELLO" and was playing with Tonta, so no problem, I will get him in a minute. When I was ready to get him, as I walked up to him and reached out, he dashed back a few feet...and then it happened again and again, and he thought this was the best game ever. So I quit and walked away. Then he started out towards the woods, I got my lead and the chase began. Over 2 hours in the woods and of course Tonta was right with me. I finally grabbed him when he stopped to investigate a bowl of cat food sitting on the patio of a neighbors house. The chase was FINALLY over but the real work was about to begin. I was loaded with CHIGGARS and TICKS. Both Tonta and Coal had to be bathed when we got home, and when I finished, I started pulling ticks out of my hair. Looks like a very bad year for these pests!
