I was asked today why we do not whelp out our own pregnant dogs, why we do not adopt out all the puppies…why do we network to get them into other rescue groups – isn’t that what we are – a rescue group? Yes and no. Yes we do ‘rescue’ animals – we provide emergent medical care for those that need it. But we are also a new, smaller ‘rescue’ group – so we do not have the advantage of hundreds or thousands of followers, or dozens of volunteers and dozens of foster homes. Right now we have 14 ‘main’ volunteers. 4 foster homes. We do not have the luxury of fostering a litter of 10 pups until they are maybe 6 months old before they get adopted. There are many GREAT rescue groups out there that are established, that have people clicking on their sites every day looking for that perfect pet. We are focusing our efforts on intake and networking – identifying the emergent animals that need to come in – providing food and shelter for those that are not emergent but that are still on a waiting list. Without the rescue groups taking animals from us that we have identified, we would not be able to do what we do. Helping to spay/neuter/vaccinate/deworm the owned pets that are staying in the communities. Helping with education, information, support and guidance. Without Judgment Without Criticism. With mutual Trust and Respect. This is what we do.
