I was born in Plainfield, New Jersey and moved when I was 5 so I - TopicsExpress

I was born in Plainfield, New Jersey and moved when I was 5 so I really dont remember much except for some family. I lived in Cincinnati, Ohio for the majority of my life, thus far, and felt mostly rejected because I never really fit in but, at that time, I was still trying to find myself, as well as, a sense of home and love. I moved to Little Rock, Ar for a stint and could never settle in there either. So when I moved to Knoxville, Tn I figured it to just be another stop on my search for home. This month marks my 4th year here and I have never felt more at peace or at home than I do at this very moment. I miss my family bunches and wish that I could see the friends that I have made over the years through my travels but Knoxville is definitely the Home the Lord set aside for my babies and I. I guess this is sort of like a love-letter to you, Knoxville. I love your voice that I found through poets like Black Atticus, Jonathan Clark Courageous, Lane Shuler, David Upset Rasnake, Lyric Dunagan, Taria Person and Kailey Halfrican Tucker as well as activist Mr William Isom II who opened my eyes to things that I didnt even know were issues. I love your spirit that can be seen through events like the Kuumba Festival, Boomsday, Dogwood Arts Festival, Vestival, Rossini Festival and Brewers Jam. I have met some of the most encouraging people like Laurie and Charlie Robarge, and found strength in Robin Boykins Davis that words cant magnify enough and a love like I have never known before in Jon Augustus. I have made some lasting friendships but, most importantly, I found the love of Jesus Christ in Knoxville. I will never be able to thank Cornerstone Church of Knoxville enough for being that strong foundation that I needed as a new believer. I found that same solid doctrine when I joined Riverview Missionary Baptist Church, where I am being called to serve. My faith has never been strong, my mind has never been more clear and my love has never abounded as much as it is at this moment and I love it. Im home.
