I was honored to be asked by my friend Edith Evans - Parker to read at her Mom`s funeral yesterday, so this I what I wrote in Honor of Muriel Evans,, R.I.P. Muriel we will all miss you Dear Edie and Family A few years back I wrote a little poem the day you lost your Nan.. I didnt know your family and wasnt even as close to you as we are today, ---- way back then. But today is so different as we have gotten to know many family members-- your Dear Mom being one of them.. We spent time out having fun and listening to music or just relaxing at our place --- near the fire in the basement.. How she loved to feel the warmth of the fire from the wood burning stove.. I can still see her cozying up on the sofa, and once there she would not move.. Since she moved in with you guys she had the time of her life.. going everywhere doing many things that she had never done before.. being near her kids and grandkids all the time. she was so blessed and you guys were blessed even more.... If you; Edie had things to do or wanted to get away for a bit she got to spend time with her other daughter Shirley which also made her very happy..maybe they even went a bit squirrely.. And lets not forget her brother Frank who came over and stayed with her at times while you went out of town your Mom was very fortunate to have so many loved ones around.. Her last few years were full of life. Fun, laughter, shopping, new clothes, music,plays. your friends became her friends and as for memeories of her ,they will not end.. Now her time on earth has come to an end, and we all know she will always be around watching over all of you She will have more strength now than ever before she can go wherever she wishes with no pain just pleasure..for just a few.. |Her time has come to go meet up with your Dad and her time to go could not be delayed..
