I was in the Correctional Institution for Women in Mandaluyong - TopicsExpress

I was in the Correctional Institution for Women in Mandaluyong City. We visit the inmates there every month. I gave the Talk for 2 consecutive months. I was wondering why I was not seeing my close friend-inmate there. On the following month, the third time I was asked by our head to give the Talk, I brought a simple gift for her. Losing again a sight of her stirred my curiosity and made me ask, Why is she not around again?. I asked the other inmates and to my surprise they told me that she died of Lupus. I was so sad then. I could not give anymore the simple gift I had for her that day. She was so close to my heart. Whenever I visit there, once I see her, I made sure that I give her a hug and that we chat, exchange stories, laugh and pray for each other. I miss those times when she was sharing me her life. It was not easy, being a prisoner there for so many years, but the joy and hope in her that someday shell be free really inspired me. She died. The Lupus has put an end to her life, but in my heart, I know, our friendship will last forever. I know that she is free now with God. She is praying up there for the salvation of my soul and her inmates. I am just so glad and blessed to have shared a wonderful friendship with her. Rest with God my dear friend! See you in heaven! I will surely miss you.
