I was just sharing with a friend, Renee Thompson-Franklin, the various interests and strengths that my oldest daughter exhibits. While I realize she is only 14 and that her interests will change and evolve over time - the discussion led to us talking about the dreams we had as teenagers. For me, I dreamt of becoming a journalist turned best-selling author who traveled extensively! I would go on to be a philanthropist, best party hostess and big sister to many, but mother to none! As I look back I see I allowed fear and excuses to come between me and my dreams. Yes, my dreams were deferred; however, at 47 years of age...I am still at it, though!! My question for you is: What did you envision yourself doing as a teenager? Are you doing it (did it) or are you still at it??
