I was just sincerely asked what I mean by the phrase to be overcome by the apostasy? My answer:The Apostle Paul spoke about the falling away (Greek word apostasia, from which we derive the word apostasy) in 1 Tim. 4:1. He said that this will be because people will give heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. And furthermore, the Apostle said that this was a direct* word from the Holy Spirit Himself! We cant fall away from something we have not embraced. He is actually speaking of Christians who will forsake the Lord, especially in the latter days. Never has the church seen such a massive, global falling away from the Message of the Cross and abiding in Christ as we do in this present hour. What I mean by saying the words overcome by the apostasy is exactly what the Scriptures say about it.
