I was just thinking about how Thanksgiving is a forgotten holiday - TopicsExpress

I was just thinking about how Thanksgiving is a forgotten holiday now that corporate greed, err...Christmas, has managed to push itself 6 more hours into the Thanksgiving season (thank you, Wal-Mart and Best Buy). Some people complain about it and rightfully so, but Id almost rather see Thanksgiving go away altogether because its basically the time of year that we celebrate our ancestors slaughtering Native Americans so we could have this land. I have a lot to be thankful for, and during this time of year I try to think about those people, experiences, and things that chance and the laws of science have brought my way; however, I will never be thankful that my ancestors engaged in genocide and ripped this land out of the dying hands of the proud peoples who truly belong here. If anything, we should all be ashamed of the fact and try to hide it away from the rest of the world. (Queue the if you dont like it, then GTFO posts)
