I was looking today at what it really costs for groceries in New Jersey, which I calculate at around $100 per week per person, eating modestly. For a family of 4 that is $1600 per month or $19,200 per year. In 2011 the median household income in New Jersey was $67,000. So almost 1/3 rd of the average household income goes just to food from the grocery store. In the Thrive movie below they state that the billionaire banking families who actively influence everything about our economy are trying to widen the gap between the poor and the extravagantly rich, thereby creating ever more people in poverty and less and less middle class. As far as I can see, theyre doing a damn good job of it... thrivemovement/the_movie
