I was near Cross Plains heading to Abilene one time in my black and white DPS car when I saw something whirlygiggin around on the shoulder. When I got there it was a skunk that had his head hung in a one quart milk carton. I turned on my overhead lights to protect US and got out to see if I could free this dude without getting fumigated myself. I had parked, as fate would have it directly across the road from a tractor sales and service place of business. No other homes or businesss around anywhere. After about ten minuets of talking sweet and trying to coax this lil stinker I was about to give up because every time I pulled or put any pressure on the milk carton he would throw his butt around at me and flare out his tail. And you dont know what that means, it means hes about to let go his protective stink shield. And you dont want that. Finally, out of frustration I says to myself, self, this aint working if he gets me he gets me and I just picked up the milk carton and skunk at closed end and whirled him around really fast and he popped out. He looked at me and I thought for a moment he was gonna try to get me so I drew my trusty ol 357 magnum stared him down till he waddled off. As I turned around to go to my car I saw two or three men across the highway grinning and waving. I waved back and smiled to myself knowing they were just waiting to see me get sprayed. Take that you of little faith
