I was nominated by Corwyn Johnson of MindFall Media to do this. ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that leads to weakness, paralysis, and ultimately respiratory failure. Most people with ALS survive 2-3 years and only about 10% survive at least 10 years. There is a drug to specifically for ALS but it only lengthens survival by 2-3 months.
