I was recently asked why in my videos I consistently respond to threats with 5 rounds. This is a good question, but it was asked in a very condescending, do you really need to use that much force, kind of way. My short answer is yes. (If their are multiple targets, I would use a hammer drill to each threat and assess) The pistol is a weapon of connivence, not a weapon of effective use. I carry one because I have yet to find an IWB holster for an AR-15 or AK-47. Despite what Hollywood would have you believe, 70% of people who are shot with a sidearm live. I am in no way trying to end the life of my target, but rather make my targets body not work so they cannot continue attacking me. Death is a byproduct of breaking the human body, but killing shouldnt be anyones main objective. To make a long topic short, the human body is resilient and sidearms are not as effective as you think. I want my initial counter attack to be a devastating blow to their offensive move. The legal aspect of this is complicated, but facts are facts. If you use your sidearm to defend yourself you will have to answer for your actions in court. Dont hinder yourself in the fight in an attempt to make the court battle easier. Remember, if you lose the fight against the attacker, you might not live long enough to go to court. -W
