I was reluctant to even share this. In part, because I hate the idea of this misogynistic propaganda being circulated, and, in part, because I am nervous about learning the number of male friends that may come to the defense of this jack-hole. Ultimately though... I need to add my voice to the call that THIS IS NOT OKAY!!! I warn you. Reading this article will likely ruin your day. However, allowing these egocentric male privileged entitlement driven objectified condescending victim blaming frat boy rationalizations to continue ruins our species. I am far from perfect and much of who I am is a product of our society, but I can tell you that the cultural image of most male behavior has confused and often repulsed me my entire life. Aggressiveness is not the same as assertiveness. Violence, intimidation, posturing, bullying, demeaning language, and objectification are not, ARE NOT, virtues. They are not behaviors to be coveted or rewarded. They are not traits found in leaders and heroes. They are abhorrent and childish and are the product of fear and malice and greed and weak impulse control. A line must be made in the sand. A new cultural male identity must be formed. The old guard will spit and sputter and yell and degrade and lash out and bully, but we must stand. We must stand AS MEN and we must stand BESIDE WOMEN. I do not have all the answers and I will not pretend to know what the new male ideal ought to be, but I can tell you it is not and cannot be the toxic waste that this maggot and others like his kind pollute our society with every day.
