I was shocked when the eight month court room drama over the election petition ended in less than five minutes on the so called judgment day and more shocking is the reasons they have given. I am convinced that a court of competent jurisdiction can subvert the same constitution which it claims to uphold just the same way a military can stage a coup People all over the world are praising Nana Akuffu Addo not because he just accepted the verdict but because the all saw the proceedings and are shocked about the criminal verdict that was read out The six majority judges’ explanation smells of corruption at the highest order and put the country’s future into jeopardy. Now the flood gates are open for more fraud. Atuguba’s attempt to put a spin between over voting and ballot stuffing is the most dishonest by any judge. What is the result of ballot stuffing? His explanation lacks even the basic intelligence of an average man. Any attempts to give ambiguous explanations to unambiguous laws under the pretense of purposive interpretation of the constitution constitute a rewriting of the constitution and gives room for more corruption of the judiciary. Now it is all over the place how the verdict was obtained. These judges will be condemned in annals of history. Those who facilitated bribery are now struggling to defend themselves. Let’s see how they succeed.
