I was so happy , many people requested a copy of my poem dedicated to my big bro, well here it is Blanca Santiago Rodgers Kenneth Rodgers, Tracey Crenshaw-Lewis(for pokey lew)Keita Spike Rodgers Santiago and anybody else who wanted a copy. a HEAVY burden was lifted off me, cause i think i captured my dear friend and some of who he was in my little poem Rest in Peace Kenneth Rodgers I Don’t Care What Nobody Say… By Todd C. C. Evans (For my big bro Kenneth Rodgers, Sr. Rest in Peace) It IS hard to say goodbye to yesterday… especially, when yesterday is full of memories of that big brother, that damn good friend. The one who you thought would go on forever. His life just wouldn’t end, but in the blink of an eye, he went away. I remember the words of wisdom he would often say. I remember how he would teach, instruct, and guide in a discerning and humble way. When he needed to be “Philadelphia” tough, he would pour it on doggone. When you needed his friendship or kinship, it was always there. Unselfish for others, he would go that extra mile. He was smart as a whip. I would jokingly call him “The Professor” from Gilligan’s Isle. I miss our phone calls of talking trash or about how life was moving real fast. He stuck with me and mine through thick and thin. A friend and brother I could truly believe in. If he loved you, he would hug you real tight and put his hand on your back and ask “You good, you alright?” He was a scholar, author, coach, musician, counselor, administrator, father, and husband. There will NEVER be another and to me, he was my big brother!
