I was so hoping that I wouldnt be selected for this book challenge - TopicsExpress

I was so hoping that I wouldnt be selected for this book challenge thing going around Facebook, because how does one even begin to create a top 10 book list? Whoever started this challenge is clearly not a reader, because my fellow readers and I cringe at the thought having to list 10 favorite books. But if my friend Stephanie Sheffield (who is certainly a reader) can do it, then I can, too. So here goes (in no particular order)... Ill start with the classics: 1. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte 2. Great Expectations by Charles Dickens 3. The Color Purple by Alice Walker (I dont know if everyone considers this a classic, but I do) Im a series girl. So here are a few of my favorites: 4. The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling 5. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series by Stieg Larsson 6. The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins 7. The Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer 8. The Divergent series by Veronica Roth Other books that I have loved include: 9. White Oleander by Janet Fitch 10. The Di Vinci Code by Dan Brown There! I did it! That was tough. I dont claim these 10 books to be the best books Ive ever read or even my top 10 favorite books. But they are certainly books that I greatly enjoyed reading and they each impacted me in some way (by opening my mind and/or just inspiring me). So at the very least, I would highly recommend each book/series listed. Now Im supposed to torture (I mean challenge) three other people to do the same. So I challenge Carol Ann McMahon, Kim Hamilton, and Xiomara Lopez Dumas. I admit that it was fun to think about what books might make this list. So thank you, Stephanie Sheffield, for challenging me! ;-)
