This is from my MS And Be My Love aka #Sleazeguy This is a phone call from Tina to the heroine, Kate, just after meeting the hero Richard. Tina speaks first. A girlish giggle was followed by a snort. “That bad, huh? So what did he do to deserve all this venom?” “He was trying to give some woman the brush-off on the phone. You know the stuff. The same old tired excuses. I had enough of that with Barry to recognise the technique. He even lied to her about where he was.” “What a creep.” “I called him on it afterwards and he just smirked.” “What was he like? Young, old, incredibly rich?” “I suppose he must have money to live here. Theyre all pretty flash three bedroom luxury apartments aside from the Penthouse and Sub-Penthouses and it’s straight across from the beach.” She paused, visualizing the slim figure, the glossy black hair untouched by grey. “I guess hed be close to forty, so not young. Dark and only average height. Not built.” “Doesnt sound all that interesting.” “Actually...” She stopped. Tina would go on and on if she showed any interest in a guy. Time to backtrack. “No, he looks like a sleaze. You know, smooth and a bit too well dressed. I bet he has a fake tiger skin rug on his bed and black satin sheets.” “And a mirror over the top so he can check you out? Totally shaggadelic. Maybe you should try him on for size. I bet he could shake you up better than that boring ex-fiancé.” I bet he could too. Kate shut her eyes but that allowed her mind to supply images to go with the illicit thoughts. She opened them again quickly. “I’m not listening. Ill hang up if you dont change the subject. We arent all into talking about bedroom games.” Especially with the memory of that dark stranger intruding.
