I wasnt going to post this, I thought everyone would be sick of - TopicsExpress

I wasnt going to post this, I thought everyone would be sick of hearing about my Miss Acco by now, but someone has asked me to. I got a call from a lady on Friday night around 10pm, a week since Acco had gone missing. Shed found her. She was driving home with her young children and her daughter heard cries so they stopped to investigate and apparently found Acco in or part in a drain and were able to coax her out. She was in the street behind the vet. I thought I had seen her in the other end of that street on Tuesday night, I cant be 100% sure, but Im pretty sure, which would mean she was traveling up & down that street, so anywhere from 5-30 houses away from the vet. She was thankfully still wearing her collar, and they had received & kept my flyer so instantly knew exactly who theyd found. Luckily I was not far from their house, so I was able to get to them in a few minutes. Im going to contact this family and hopefully visit them this week to say thank you again & also find out exactly what happened. I was a raving mess of tears & relief & excitement and just all round crazy. So I dont know if I heard everything they said or not. I just couldnt believe someone had found my baby. In fact when she first called I thought she was either joking or being mean or holding Acco to ransom!! I kept saying, youve got her now, I can come and get her now, youre not joking. I just couldnt believe it. I didnt even cuddle her when I got her, I put her straight in the carrier and had tipped the carrier upright so that she was no where near the carrier door. I didnt cuddle her until we were home safe, with all doors locked!!! So thank god I had done flyers and thank god someone who looked at my flyer & kept it was the one that found her. I think I was just extremely insanely lucky, but my advice to anyone who loses a pet, get yourself out there, get your pet out there. I did flyers, door knocks, posters on power poles, thanks to the suggestion of a friend I had organised a letterbox distribution place to get flyers delivered to the entire estate (3200 flyers) and was going to do that again in another 2-3 weeks just so everyone knew I was still looking & wasnt going to stop, she was on every facebook page I could find, I called about 10 vets, pounds, visited pounds, changed her microchip details to missing, I was out searching every chance I could and that mostly meant after dark, for a few hours most nights, I even set a trap!!! The amount of support I got from complete strangers was amazing and I always thanked anyone by private message for sharing my post and that seemed to get some people more interested too (which is not at all why I did it). One lady in particular seemed to make it her mission to find Acco after receiving my flyer, she was an amazing support & help, I really dont know what I would have done without her. And if you know someone who has lost their pet, please please please share their post. Even if you live no where near them, someone you know might or someone they know might...and most importantly it will make your friend feel better, it will help them feel supported and help them feel that they are getting this out to absolutely everyone they can...a share only takes a click or two. I still cant believe any of this has happened, I am just soooo relieved shes home. I just cant believe how lucky I am
