I watched Eden Lake today, not one for enjoying horror movies but made it through to the end. Just! So I sort of get it now. After last weeks discussion in class I thought we were heading down that old slippery road of Feminism. So females in a more dominant role in film? The female protagonist What do we all think? It worked OK in this film but she didn’t make it in the end the males did finally did get to her. Are there any more ideas we could discuss? don’t think I can make it through another horror. I was thinking that i would like to pick two foreign films, as I love them and probably watch more non english speaking films than most I love the film The Broken Circle Breakdown, watch with subtitles otherwise you will have no idea what it going on . This film is made in the Netherlands and the reason why I would like to see it on our list is……. It’s based on a true story Lead female role governs most of the movie right to the end She is the front line of their blue grass band Remains positive about daughter illness Can change her name, and her identity. Will add to this list when you have seen it?
