I went and practised after all - and felt so good afterwards - - TopicsExpress

I went and practised after all - and felt so good afterwards - almost martyr like! Spent 2 hours and finished at about 10pm - wonderful atmosphere all around with much of the church in complete darkness so I could let the organ thunder as the Christmas Carol(Unto us a boy is born) says. Kenneth Leightons Paean is nearly ready for performance now(Easter Day voluntary) - and Bachs Dorian Toccata is nearly there as well(I even sight read through the Fugue as well). I even started to get to grips with Simon Prestons Alleluias - although my hip joints are a bit stiff today. There is a fast triplet pedal passage that has the organist hitting the highest note on the pedal board and with short legs like mine its a challenge indeed! Maybe they should have seat belts for vertically challenged organists to stop us falling off the organ seat when were going at fast, stretched out pedal passages hammer and tongs. It was all worth it though - and I proved to myself yet again that practise does work. Now to see if I can continue in the same fame of mind - doubtful in my case. Here endeth a bit of personal bragging! Apologies to anyone who can wade through it all!
