I went to Coles after work this evening and parked at the disability parking spot and I saw a brave lady yelling out. You are not allowed to park here you cannot park here this is a disability parking zone, she said. You are one of those people who disregard parking signs you cannot park here this is a disability parking zone, she continued. I slowly took my parking permit out and hanged it in front of the car. The brave lady stood in front of my car ready to take a photo of my car but she quickly dashed off after seeing my disability parking permit hanging in front of my car. You have a disability! sorry, she said and quickly disappeared into the shop. What is the lady saying mummy What is she saying mummy did you show her your parking permit?, asked Destiny. Yes I said. We got out of the car and went to the shop, looked around but did not see the lady. She probably saw me and hid inside the shop. We bought banana and grapes and got out of the shop. Got into the car and sat there for few minutes hoping to see the lady and congratulate her for her bravery but did not see the lady. It is good to know that there are people out there who are standing up to those who misuse the disability parking spot and to know that there are people out there who are fighting for the rights of people with disabilities.
