I went to the grocery store today. As I passed people I would smile and tried to connect on some level. EVERYONE ignored me, (except and older gentleman that smiled back and the cashier). It was uncomfortable putting myself on a vulnerable platform and have person after person ignore me. I wonder if some of them even saw me or if I truly was invisible. I realized, up until this morning, I too would go out in the world and completely ignore those around me. Totally oblivious of others and content in my own little world. How often do we all do this and when did this become the norm? How fun would life be if everywhere you went people acknowledged one another!! I think its time to start a new trend!!
