I wish more people understood the intricacies of diet-psychology. A history of dieting for weight-loss or competition can create a tremendous psychological diet-rebellion in future attempts at weight-control. Its very common actually: What happens is that your inner self knows you don’t want to go back to that in real terms and be completely controlled by it anymore – so you sabotage yourself to keep it from happening - you diet 3-4 days then go off on an eating tangent or frenzy for 3-4 days and you wonder why - and you wonder what happened to all that discipline you had before. Well, your authentic self realizes the difference between discipline and obsession - and you build up a psychological rebellion against anything that mentally and emotionally represents dieting through food deprivation and restriction. Its very common and another of the dangers of the North American Diet Mentality. That is what is happening in you - you arent weak - you are changed mentally and emotionally
