I woke this morning looking at my phone for a text message. It wasnt there. It hasnt been for awhile now. Once he realized how sick he was, he didnt text as much. His calls were not as frequent. His voice faded over the last couple months. He called Thursday at 5:40 am, Unfortunately I was working nights so I wasnt awake. I missed his call. I dont remember if I called back, he wasnt answering very often anymore. We got to sit on the porch and chat for a few minutes, it was hard, I knew I wouldnt be able to visit many more times. Honestly, it was hard for me. I hate goodbyes. I never said it. We never talked about how long. His first memorial was last night. We laughed, cried and reminisced. Quite a guy, he had no idea how many lives he touched. I know his riches were in heaven but I also know, he took, On earth as it is in Heaven serious. He lived very humble. I miss you Ken. Until we meet again, so long!
