I woke up smiling this morning because it is the birthday of my first daughter! Eva Kurtz-Nelson: please know that you have filled me with awe and delight from the moment of your birth. Your beauty and brilliance, your compassion and curiousity, your keen wit, your finely honed gift for sarcasim and irony, your campaigns for the underdogs, your superb sense of humor....indeed, your very presence of grace and life overflowing....what a splendid privilege and adventure it is to be your mother!
