I wonder... Lieutenant Pixel Eraxadim glared intently at the bubbling flasks in front of her, the glass pane separating her from the dangerous chemicals fogging up slightly as she adjusted her goggles. Reaching for the small, primitive tape recorder to her left, she pushed the old-fashioned record button and listened as the old spools whirred to life. So far no signs of a reaction, but Im hopeful, she said quietly, precariously moving the panel upwards so that she could insert the contents of the dropper into each of the differently-colored flasks. Carefully she adjusted the mixtures and waited for a moment, noting dully that there was no reaction. She sighed, ready to give up. Suddenly, something within the liquids began to stir. What was a smoothly bubbling mixture was coming to an increasingly violent boil, to a point where Pix had to turn down the heating pad. Alas, it didnt seem like the head had anything to do with the reaction; despite her measures, it continued to boil. Pix squeaked, slamming the panel shut and ducking beneath the desk as a loud bang erupted from her laboratory. Smoke filled the air, but thankfully nothing set off an alarm. The only thing that was left of the experiment was a sickly sweet smell throughout the room, and a thick, oozing liquid that ran out of the glass chamber. Pix reached for her recorder, looking up meekly from her hiding place to where she saw the odd liquid beginning to crystallize. I know it isnt orthodox to do things this way but my life is my own, she whispered valiantly, taking off her glove and picking up a piece of the bright pink crystal. She popped it into her mouth, and after a moment, sighed in relief and enjoyment. Reaching for her recorder once more, she held another piece of the crystal to the bright light of her lab and yelled triumphantly, Behold..... SPACE CANDY! (omnomnom... and hello!
