I wonder how our churches are able to continue to keep the congregation growing. Please correct me if am wrong! When the missionaries came into Nigeria they came to teach, build, offer employment, I knew churches back then built schools, homes, created jobs etc. What I don’t understand with some Christians or should I call them followers of their pastors is that is ok for the church to shift its focus away from what Christianity was about which my understand from the bible is “love” to building cathedrals , buying private jets in pretence of preaching the word of God to the world. But if an individual decide to make a shift such person is condemn but is ok if is coming from a pastor Most of our parents back in the days are benefited from schools built by missionaries such as the Baptist, Anglican and catholic schools. But in this new age of Christianity can someone please show me a school built by the new churches that accommodate the masses? It is so easy to attack the politicians but the same people are scared to attack pastors because the bible says touch not my anointed, please note sometimes anointing leaves the so called anointed if such anointed is possessed by worldly things . It is so difficult for the Christians to make impact in the ill psychotic nation of ours because of the so many divisions in Christianity “I know they refer to it as denomination”. II wish Christians could put aside the division and come together to help this great Nation Nigeria before it collapses. When I was in university I use to attend one of the Christian camp program , I remember that I had a vision that the church could building hostels and vocational skill centre and recruit people of the street and train them in vocation of their choice for 6 months or a year and they graduate. Whatever the person does with it afterward is up to the person, but I was sure that there will be those who will genuinely give their life to Christ because of the love and the gift given to them for free. Almost 18 years later no church has ever thought to come up with this kind of project in a country where the government is clear that they will not provide for its citizen basic amenities. Okay if that is too much for the church to provide because I believe it will cost more than building massive structure as church building and buying jets (sarcasm) , what about if churches teach Nigerian what their constitutional rights. I have come to realise that an average Nigerian citizen does not understand what it means to be a citizen of Nigeria. If churches can do this which should not cost as much as setting up vocational centres I believe Nigeria can start to repair itself. Do you agree?
