There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.) And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: (Ephesians 4:4-12 KJV) Message: Theres a grace given to accomplish the purposes of God. Before youre a leader or a pastor, remember youre first a christian. It means that this offices mentioned above were given to perfect not just the saints but also the pastors. How have you journeyed so far in this first half of the ministry year? What has your growth been like? You know, We all will stand before God to give account of ourselves. To achieve greatness in Life, Your personal growth as a christian is key and essential. Every person may think youre a great person, but only God knows your mind and your truth motives. What will become of you when this program is finished? We should be in no doubt as to what God expects of us. He has put Jesus on the platform as a model, that we should be like him in every way. How much of christ will find vent in you? He has given us his word to guide and lead us through this life. The word of God helps us to check our language and communication. We should learn to allow Gods word mould us into the image of his dear son Jesus Christ. God wants our actions to be a reflection of Christ Jesus. He has given us righteousness as a gift, he expects us to live out that righteousness. If you will learn to listen to the Holy Spirit, he will sure direct and guide you in the issues of life. So many people resist the Holy Spirit, and so cannot fulfil Gods purpose in their life. The love of God is unmistakable, its fluid. Let the Holy Spirit guide you. As a pastor, what is it that is most important to you? We should be concerned about our personal growth, its everything. The training programs organised by the ministry should be taking seriously. The experience of your life at a certain stage of your life affect your perspective and your approach in your daily works of life. Every true believer worth the name should no doubt settle this in his or her mind that :The more you know and the greater the height, the more humble you should become. Warning signs of a backsliding Christian: 1.He doesnt submit reports 2.Doesnt attend meeting 3. He No more tithes and 4.Only shows up when he is given a role in Church Be wary of these signs Your personal growth is very vital. Take it seriously. There are a lot of people who dont know God although they are pastors or leaders just as the bible puts it Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame. (1 Corinthians 15:34 KJV) If you dont respect authority you dont deserve it either. Even God respects authority. In releasing the children of Israel,God sought the permission of Pharaoh through Moses. When God tells you to be humble, its got nothing to do with the personality of that character to whom God expects you to submit yourself to. See a likely situation between Sarah and Hagar, the Angel of The Lord told her ( Hagar) to return back to her Mistress ( Sarah ) although the bible specifically explained that Sarah maltreated Hagar. It only takes pride to leave your master. Let the word of God mould your character. Use the word of God to better your everyday walk with God, thats whats important. Heres the idea, When others meet you, christ is immediately introduced through your character. Learn to see yourself in the word of God. Trace yourself in Gods word. Find out about yourself. Theres no human character thats not revealed in Gods book. So, no matter what happens, You can change your state, and also your life style. let Gods word be your mirror. Deposit in your spirit only good and positive things.
