I wonder sometimes how much we fight against the will of Allah (swt), against fate, against what was written for us. Why cant we face each day just saying I will accept what comes? Whatever and whoever comes into your path was meant to be there, and if they leave, they were meant to leave you, all for a purpose. When I look back at that time, Allah (swt) was giving me the most beautiful gift…and He will never cease to be Al-Wahhab (The Giver of Gifts). So who is to say that Harris,s departure, in a way, isnt also a beautiful gift? A gift wrapped in hardship, but a gift nonetheless. This is my hope, my dream, my longing – that a day will come when I will see the fruits of these beautiful and difficult gifts, and that love will return to me. When Allah tests you, it is never to destroy you. When He removes something in your possession, it is only in order to empty your hands for an even greater gift -Ibn Al-Qayyim (Rahimahullah).
