I wonder who it was who came up with the idea of The Birthing Plan? because as far as my experience goes with it, it is the kiss of death so far as a normal delivery is concerned. It seems as if, the longer and more elaborate the plan, the quicker the obstetric catastrophe ensues and the sooner we head for the operating room. I think, the next time I am presented with a birthing plan, Im going to be 100% honest, smile very sweetly, and ask the woman if she wouldnt just rather pick a date and schedule her C-section and avoid all the uproar when things go wonky.
