I wore my FBCJAX Blessed Life shirt today at UNC. It was the clean shirt on top of my suitcase when I was getting dressed this morning. I was blessed with a visit from one of our pastors, Lenny, who came to love on Miss Madi, pray with us, and play with her so I could step out to get dinner and some coffee. While I was hesitant to leave her with Lenny, not because of Lenny but because of what a clingy girl she is and because I didnt want her screaming for the entire time Id stepped out, I was grateful for the time to order a meal and sit down and eat at the table, uninterrupted. Lenny also brought some gift cards for our family that we are most appreciative and thankful for. They are such a big help. But, as I went to the bathroom tonight to change into my pajamas and out of my blessed life shirt, it hit me We are blessed to be a blessing and there was my mission field. A family, about five or so women, with a baby here in the PICU (I assume). I saw them all camped out in chairs in the waiting room last night, covered in blankets and not wanting to leave. I immediately got chills all over my body as I walked into the restroom across from the waiting room to change and I heard it again blessed....blessing. So, I came back into the room, grabbed one of the gift cards, walked it back out into the PICU waiting area and told the ladies that I didnt know their situation, I didnt know their needs, but I know my God wants them to have this. I told them how I have been in and out of UNC in the past year with over eleven accumulative weeks here under our belts, and that I was praying for them. I tell yall this not for any sort of pat on my own back, but to remind you that we *are* blessed to be a blessing. I tell you this so you will remember to stop and listen to Him when He speaks, and be obedient and follow through with what He wants you to do. I walked away from those women tonight with tears in my eyes, thankful for a God who loves me, blesses my family, and gives me opportunities to serve Him.
