I would like to inform fellow members about the immediate future of the Tunnel Stone. The Stone itself will shortly be moved “Without Any Restoration” to Treherbert Station for public display. The reason for no renovation yet is simple. We want it to look its best when it is sited back above the Tunnel. It will be accompanied by an information notice board regarding the Rhondda and surrounding area. There will also be an article on the tunnel stone itself. It will remain there on public display until we have permission to site the stone back at the Tunnel entrance in the future. Some investigation will have to be made on the actual ownership of the stone and permission sought from them. Mr Alun Huish of R.C.T has been in touch and is at present looking into this for us. I would like to work closely with Mr Huish as he has a lot in common with our goals and I feel could be invaluable to us in the coming future. The reason for this snap decision of the stone being moved again is quite simple. The stone had already been marked up for public display before we took control of it. Therefore as a good will gesture I feel it right to let R.C.T display it while our quest moves into a different phase. As we didn’t know of its plans we simply have to accept it for now and move it when we are ready. Here is a picture of what it will look like. Any comments, please keep it clean and Calm.
