I would like to say something about the whole Zimmerman - TopicsExpress

I would like to say something about the whole Zimmerman thing--especially in connection to Marissa Alexander (see below). Whether or not you think that Zimmerman was guilty of murder, it is my belief that he certainly was guilty of reckless use of a handgun. A dead young man is the proof of that. As for poor Ms. Alexander: she fired a WARNING shot to protect herself against a man who (at least according to my understanding), beat the hell out of her while she was PREGNANT. "Stand your ground" is supposed to give people like her the right to protect themselves in the instance of a reasonable assumption of harm. The fact is, this woman has now been given 20 years for a WARNING SHOT. It seems to me that the ONLY "crime" that both Trayvon and Marissa are "guilty" of is being African-American. Justice, where are you???
