I would not turn my own thoughts, or call the attention of Christians to any thing but the one thing needful, the one thing essential and only available to our rising out of our fallen state, and becoming as we were at our creation, a holy offspring of God, and real partakers of the Divine Nature. Does todays church make any real acknowledgement toward the fact that we are supposed to actually be a NEW creation, a DIFFERENT kind of creature? Instead we are ok with just being better humans, perhaps less sinful, but still just sinners, still only human. Its a sham. Christ didnt die to make us better sinners. He died so that we too could die, and raise again IN THIS LIFE as something different, no longer children of men, but Children of God, with His nature, His Power. Before we were saved by the blood of Christ we were slaves to sin. But instead of training us to walk in our freedom from sin the modern church has made us twice slaves, still slaves to our selfish pride (masked behind a religious face) and also slaves to our religious system, tithing to and enabling a machine that promises freedom but leaves people perhaps even more dead than they were before they heard its gospel. So I say come out from among them. Do not be conformed to the patterns of this world and its church. But be transformed by the power of the true gospel. Dont be content with being a better you. You need to be crucified and replaced with the Son of God living thorugh you. The Son of God needs to be doing the works that He did in the begining. He did it through that body of flesh then and will do it through His body of flesh now (the Church). A fresh water stream does not produce salt water. If you are not manifesting the character of Christ then perhaps you are not living His Gospel at all. His Gospel is a gospel of power and out of those who believe will flow rivers of living water (The Holy Spirit). When you interact with others, is it the Holy Spirit that is flowing out of you or is it your flesh nature; your selfishness, pride, anger, sinfulness? Jesus said that if we dont bear good fruit we will be cut down and thrown into the fire. We need to stop lying to ourselves by saying that we will inherit the Kingdom of God even if we bear the deeds of the flesh rather than the fruit of the Spirit. If we walk according to the Spirit we will not gratify the desires of the flesh. Father, please teach us your truth and make us to walk in it. Please work in us and through us. Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. John 8:12
