I wouldnt usually post these things, but after speaking directly with Associate casting producer Christina Calisi of MTV, I felt that this might be a great opportunity for a family in our community : remotecontrol.mtv/casting-call-for-parents/ It is no secret that mainstream media has often and mostly exploited and taken advantage of Trans stories. I, too, am weary of the one-sided narratives of Trans lives given by Cis people. As always, I encourage you to be cautious, but if you feel like this might be a positive opportunity for you, check it out. Christina also said I could pass on her email and phone number to any interested families. Shes happy to answer any questions or concerns directly. She says theyre hoping to find a family with a transitioning parent, and a child who is between the ages of 15-25. Theyre looking to present a story thats humanizing and honest, where folks are supporting each other.
