The Difficult Dance of Eden A treacherous climb of steel and clay Bodies bounce with bartered fist Intrepid travellers of their day Fear their lives, so fear they kiss A peak, a high, and then a fall Discover Guy and live the thrill For this trip ends when bed we call A weaker head and a stronger will Flamingo steps to a swaying dream Amber and green swallow the crowd A crocodile basks in a cordial stream Cheshire cat grins at the bold and the loud This is the awkward and difficult dance A ritual earthed into glistening rock And seabeds raised with elegance Moon follows sun as tick becomes tock An infinite ground carved out of wine Flamboyantly grooved with bedded nail A global sound cleanses the spine With each new beat and every wail This is the awkward and difficult prance An acid tipped tingle for the brave A blemished boil so tricky to lance The ecstatic rave in wood-bound cave This is the mystical moonlit seance Where gypsies roam to slit your throat A dreadful look becomes a silence The dead depart by long-tail boat This is the awkward and difficult dance Where lying down gives no reprieve The bold and the brave have no chance At this glorious dance of Adam and Eve Ali Bongo, Koh Phangan, 2014
