ICC World Twenty20: Four tournaments, four winners and some amazing stats.. The ICC World Twenty20 started in 2007 with a bang. Yuvraj Singh slammed six sixes in an over and India won the inaugural edition beating pakistan in a thrilling final,the four editions of the championship have produced some interesting stas.. The fifth edition of the ICC World Twenty20 Championshipis all set to start from March 16 in Bangladesh. There is no consistency of a team winning the championship with the game itself being unpredictable. The results were also unpredictable as the four editions were won by different teams. This also represents the only occasion of a team posting 250-plus runs in the tournament. # There are 12 occasions of a team dismissed all out for a total less than 100 runs in the tournament. Irelands 68 all out against West Indies at Providence on 30.04.10 is the lowest total by a team in a completed innings. # Mahela Jayawardenes 858 runs in the tournament represent the most run aggregate by a batsman in the tournament. He also holds the record for most boundary fours scored by a batsman in the tournament. He has scored 91 boundary fours. # Chris Gayle, with 664 runs, occupies the second place in the list of batsmen who have scored most runs in the tournament. Tillakaratne Dilshan is the other batsman to score 600-plus runs (632), while Kumar Sangakkara with 590 runs, is on the threshold of becoming the fourth batsman to total 600-plus runs. # Gayle with 43 boundary sixes to his credit owns the record for most boundary sixes scored by a batsman in the tournament.
