ICELAND VOLCANO: Photographers managed to capture photos of a small volcanic eruption in Icelands Holuhraun lava field on Friday morning as they joined several scientists for a flight over the site. The estimated 1km long fissure-eruption occurred overnight, which forced Icelandic airspace authorities to raise the aviation warning over the nearby Bárðarbunga volcano to its highest possible grade - a code red. It was downgraded to an orange warning shortly after. The national Icelandic broadcaster reported that up to 5,000 feet of airspace was affected due to the volcanic activity and travel options were restricted up to 3 miles around the volcano.
