ICMA Pakistan joins WCOA 2014 STAFF REPORTER KARACHI: The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants (ICMA) Pakistan has joined World Congress of Accountants (WCOA) 2014 as a “media partner”– a flagship event held after every four years and attended by the accountants’ community and regulators around the world. WCOA 2014 is scheduled to be held from November 10 to 13 at Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, said a release issued by ICMAP. As a media partner, ICMA Pakistan will not only be supporting the worldwide promotion of the World Congress of Accountants 2014 but will also be highlighting and branding the professional role and status of the ICMA Pakistan internationally. The WCOA, a four-yearly event, is held under the auspices of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), the representative body of 2.5 million accountants of 179-member and associate accounting bodies in 130 countries. The host organisation rotates every fourth year to a different national professional accounting organisation, which is chosen by an IFAC selection team. The congress gives almost 5,000 global participants the opportunity to listen to world-class speakers and leaders of the finance and business community, to exchange views with other accounting and finance professionals from around the world and debate current issues and trends in the profession.
