ICYMI—Here are my comments yesterday on the issue of ride sharing which has become a hot topic recently in and around the Buffalo area. As smart phones and the innovations that come from their usage increase, the federal government must carefully balance regulation with growth opportunities. Innovations such as ride sharing services present a tremendous opportunity to provide consumers with cheaper and more efficient transit options. But in order for these innovations to continue to expand, the government must not stifle their growth with burdensome and excessive regulations.
