IEBC has summoned Makueni senate seat aspirant Kethi Kilonzo - TopicsExpress

IEBC has summoned Makueni senate seat aspirant Kethi Kilonzo to appear before its Nominations Dispute Resolution Committee at the Milimani Law Courts on Friday. Kethi is expected to clear the air over her eligibility to contest the Makueni Senate seat. TNA has been insisting that Kethi is not a registered voter and did not vote in March, and as such her candidature should be nullified. IEBC has however, trashed TNA’s allegations and gone ahead to clear her with the returning officer saying any party aggrieved by its decision was at liberty to seek legal redress. TNA has now lodged a complaint with the County Assembly Nominations Disputes Resolution Committee chaired whose chair is Thomas Letangule. The committee will discuss the matter this week. Letangule has also directed party leaders of the Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM), Narc, URP and People’s Party of Kenya to attend the 10am session without fail. Should any of those summoned fail to attend, the complaints will be heard in their absence, Mr Letangule warned while responding to claims by TNA that Kethi is not a registered voter. Kethi on her part has dismissed the allegations and challenged the doubters to confirm her registration status with the IEBC. Complaints against Prof Kaloki were raised by the Wiper Democratic party, which says he is their member.
