IF WOMEN UNDERSTOOD If women understood ... that men have fears, but with no permission to display them. There is excitement in the sound of an engine or the cry of a goal. Who value much excess smiles you give them, than three kilos less. How overwhelming at times is to be the breadwinner of a family. What it takes to be brave, powerful and successful all at the same time time. The need of a hug and not always knowing how to ask. How difficult it is to understand what you have never taught them. The tears that they hold inside. The power we have over them. They also spend sleepless nights. They need silence as much as we need to talk. That they do not walk through life thinking about how hurt us. Who are weaker than than their bodies show, no matter how tall or strong. That to bring the best or worst from them - is in our hands. That they think & reason differently. That feel like we do. That they demonstrating feelings as best they can or how they learned. If women we understood all this ; if we could look past some omissions ; if we realized that there is no such thing as all or none ; if we could feel that for them, the best proof of our love, is that we choose them ; if women would lower a little our guard ; many reproaches and complaints ; if we could increase the smiles, the toasts and playfulness and if we let them do this without both mandate or expectation ; we would understand that we, women, are what gives meaning to their lives. As women, girlfriends, mothers, daughters, sisters or friends. At the end of the day where the jokes end, beyond the social public stage, where there is only one man and his heart beats, there we, women, are... with which the men we chose. by Jess Browne
