IF YOURE USING KYO-GREEN OR KELP OR PROGESTERONE, PLEASE READ THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! California Foolishness For some reason that I dont quite understand, some laws were passed in the great state of California a few years back that certain warnings must now be placed on some key nutritional products....available to you in any health food store. And since Ive often been asked about these warnings, thought Id simply draw your attention to them and suggest that the laws are a great foolishness. For instance.... On the Emerita brand of progesterone that I have before me just now, the following is printed: California law requires us to state the following: WARNING: This product contains progesterone, a chemical known to the state of California to cause cancer. As with any product, if you experience irritation or discomfort, discontinue use and consult a licensed health care practitioner. The bottle inside is sealed for your protection. Progesterone, of course, does NOT cause cancer. Unbalanced estrogen is the culprit, caused by a lack of progesterone production. Estrogen can not be left unbalanced in the body. It is a growth hormone, stimulating the growth of immature cells that dont know how to contribute to the body but wanting to multiply rapidly and out of control when no progesterone is available to slow down and impact of estrogen and teach these cells how to be contributing citizens to the body. Progesterone is NOT a growth hormone, but a soothing, calming hormone, which by its very nature can not cause cancer. Ah, but for many years the medical world was giving women estrogen from horse pee called Premarin, and trying to balance that nasty impact with a fake progesterone (which is called a progestin) called Provera. It didnt work. It wasnt an actual progesterone, but some gook made up by a company that bastardized bio-identical, plant-based progesterone enough to put a patent on it. (Cant patent natural progesterone.) And that combination...the giving of estrogen derived from horse pee along with a fake progestin DID indeed cause cancer. Stupid? Outrageous? Both the practice by the medical world and the laws passed in California? You decide for yourself. If I were a swearing man Id say damn, but since Im not, I wont. Oh, and the California folks have also mandated that KyoGreen (a wonderful green drink powder that always, always, always tests well on my clients via muscle response testing) has this warning on it: WARNING...This product contains lead, a chemical known to the state of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. Truth is, many things grownin out of the dirt have traces of metals in them. (From what I can tell, its the kelp that is the source of the trace lead....kelp, a VERY nutritious nutrient, vital source of iodine for the thyroid. It also contains traces of barium, boron, chromium, lithium, nickel, silver, titanium, vanadium, aluminum, strontium, bismuth, chlorine, cobalt, gallium, tin, and zirconium.....some of these being very toxic to the body if delivered in much, much higher amounts than that found in kelp.) Bottom line: both the Emerita progesterone and the KyoGreen have always tested well via the bio-feedback I do on clients who come to my office for nutritional consulting. Im not sure what other products out there have been unjustly labeled by the authorities in California...but Ill keep my eyes open. Are these products safe? Absolutely. Are the law makers in error? Completely. But again, you decide. In my office, your body is the boss. -Dr Dave Frahm, ND In His Service for The Body PS....I just ran into another product that the State of Cailifornia Prop 65 has put their warning on...Ultimate Fiber Cleanse by Natures Secret.
