Preliminary estimates reveals that more than 14,000 refugees have arrived the city in the past few weeks following the escalation of the Boko Haram attacks. Most of the refugees shelter with friends and relatives, refusing the IDP camps set up by the government in schools, thereby constituting an enormous strain on the food security of the host families.
