IK & TUQ dragging Army 2 politically intervene: Jan Achakzai PRESS RELEASE ISLAMABAD: The Spokesperson of Jamiat Ulema Islam, Jan Achakzai, said that Imran Khan and Dr Qadri intransigence seeking PMs resignation has created an impasse and now want to drag Army for playing some sort of political role. In a statement, Jan Achakzai said that maturity of these forces should have led to the resolution of the issue by politicians themselves. But the two parties were from the start dragging the army to politically intervene. He said that JUI will never accept any attempt of regime change by street pressure adding that marchers leaders want to resort to bloodletting but the government is not giving them martyrs. As far the ISPR statement is concerned he said that it is very much clear as government asked for facilitative role not implying any mediators role as claimed by Dr Qadri and Imran Khan camp. He said that ISPR statement did not contradict the PM speech in the Parliament who said that government did not authorise Army Chief to a play role of a mediator. Unfortunately, elements of media hyped the statement and tried to creat a civil-military communication gap, he added. He said that Army is a national institution and it should not be maligned by vested interests. He said that JUI will not endorse any solution that is beyond the confines of Parliamentary resolution, constitution and democratic norms. End
