IN RESONSE TO THE GOVERNMENT IS GREAT COMMENT. Actually, Its not any different today than what they saw 250 odd years ago.. We are dealing with the characteristics of mankind. We have always had all the same types of people all wanting the same things man has wanted since the beginning. Why-because it is our carnality. The beauty of the Constitution is that it covers those things-greed avarice selfishness etc. You see, the constitution is not so much about what the federal government can do but what it cant . It is not a living document but a set of universal, eternal principles adapted to government that keep in check the frailties of man. Those who want to change the structure of the nation keep saying it is a living document. Its like scripture; Regardless of what the reader interprets the text to be, God set it down and knows exactly what it means. Oh darn, there I go again with that God thing. Yes I do. For even though people feared the world was flat, the realty of it didnt change. Our founders, with the help of almighty God, created the nation. What God has created, man best be very careful when they go trying to use their wisdom to make it better. Some of the changes we have foisted on the document havent turned out so well for us. One example would be the creation of Income tax. Another would be for the election of Senators rather than appointment by state legislatures. As you can see in the prosecution of the impeachment of Bill the whoremonger Clinton, those senators dont always do what needs to be done. Your disputation about the size and scope of the federal government is folly. Just like the Jews willingly went to where the government told them they had to go, believing that their government would never do anything like kill 6 million of them, the uninformed American is gathering at the address given to them, to make their way to the new reality that uncle Sam wants to give them. Happy Sabbath. May you find the spirit today and may he teach you that when the government fears the people, there is freedom; but when the people fear the government, freedoms disappear.
